Official NYSC Kits (Provided at Camp)

Upon registration at camp, NYSC will provide you with a few basic items, including:

  1. 2 White T-shirts

  2. 2 White shorts

  3. 1 Pair of white canvas shoes

  4. 1 Pair of white socks

  5. NYSC crested vest

  6. Khaki jacket

  7. Khaki trousers

  8. Khaki belt

  9. NYSC cap

  10. NYSC boots

  11. NYSC ID card

⚠️ Note: These items are often low in quality and sizes may not fit properly. Many corps members prefer to bring their own extras.

Essential NYSC Kits to Buy Yourself

Here’s a checklist of personal items you need to bring for comfort, hygiene, and preparedness:

Personal Hygiene

  • Bucket and bowl (plastic)

  • Bathing soap and dish

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste

  • Towel

  • Comb/hairbrush

  • Toilet paper

  • Antiseptic (Dettol/Savlon)

  • Padlock (for securing belongings)

  • Sanitary pads/tampons (for females)

  • Nail cutter

 Clothing & Accessories

  • Extra white T-shirts (at least 3–5)

  • Extra white shorts

  • Extra white socks

  • Extra white sneakers

  • Rubber slippers

  • Undergarments (multiple)

  • Plain white towel or scarf (for Muslim females)

  • Sweater or hoodie (camp mornings can be cold)

Bedding

  • Bed sheet & pillowcase

  • Pillow (optional)

  • Blanket or wrapper

Documents (Original + 5 photocopies of each)

  • Call-up letter (Don’t laminate it!)

  • Green card (print in color)

  • Statement of result/Certificate

  • School ID card

  • Medical report (if applicable)

  • Passport photographs (10–15 copies, white background)

  • Waist pouch (for carrying valuables)

  • Power bank

  • Flashlight or rechargeable lamp

  • Water bottle or flask

  • Small first aid kit (painkillers, band-aids)

  • Snacks or food flask (canteen food isn’t always reliable)

  • Sunglasses and face cap

  • Mosquito net or insect repellent

  • Detergent and pegs (for drying clothes)

  • Hangers

Optional but Helpful

  • Padlock with key or combination lock

  • Small plastic stool or foldable chair

  • Money (bring cash in small denominations)
